Ndop: Civilians Shot Dead By Men In Military Attires.

Reports from Ndop, Nkoketunjia Division of the North West Region of Cameroon say, a pregnant woman, her elder sister and a baby of about six months old  have been shot and killed, Sunday August 25, 2019.Sources on the ground are indicating that, they were on a motor bike when armed men dressed in military attires opened fire on them at the entrance to the market killing all the passengers but for the commercial bike rider who narrowly escaped. Yvonne was at the market when the incident took place. NWR: HIV Prevalence More In Females Than In Males.

  By Raymond Dingana. The North West Regional Delegate of Public Health says, HIV prevalence is more rampant in females than in males. Dr Kingsley Che Soh was speaking at the conference room of the NW Regional Fund For Health Promotion, Friday August 23, 2019 during the launching ceremony of the 17 th  edition of Holidays Free Of HIV/AIDS with the theme, “Android Generation, Click On HIV Testing”. On the situation of HIV and AIDS in the North West Region of Cameroon, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh says : “The 2019 Health and Demographic Survey reveals a further drop in HIV prevalence to 4%,[5.8% in females and 1.6% in males]from the 6.3% in 2011 in the age group 15-49years.It is estimated that in 2019,64,201 persons are living with HIV in the North West Region. North West Administration watches helplessly As “Amba” Scare Empties Bamenda.

By Raymond Dingana. Many in  Bamenda and other parts of the NWR of Cameroon have been crowding travel agencies in a bid to travel out of the Region for fear of what the days ahead my turn out to be. Some travel agencies now charged 7000 FRS to Yaounde while some are collecting 8000FRS to Douala and 5000FRS to Bafoussam. This has been going on for days now,yet the North West Administration is yet to make an official statement on the mass exodus of the same people they are supposed to look after and make sure their needs are taken care off. CCMN: Journalists, Civil Society Sharpen Skills On Conflict Sensitive Reporting.

About sixty journalists and members of the civil society who belong to the Cameroon Community Media Network, CCMN from the North West, West, South West and Littoral Regions of Cameroon have been armed with the necessary tools to report on conflict situations. This was during a 3-day workshop on crises reporting that took place in Bafoussam from Sunday August 18 to Tuesday August 20 ,2019. Organized by the Peace Journalism and Conflict Transformation Project of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, the project whose main beneficiary is the Cameroon Community Media Network and its members was aimed at schooling journalists and members of the civil society on the role they are to play in bringing Humanitarian needs to the affected communities. The minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Common Wealth, Minister Mbayu Felix says what children need from their parents and elders are Pens not Guns. He was speaking Saturday August 17, 2019 during an event to donate school needs to children of school going age at the old town neighborhood in Bamenda. World Humanitarian Day In Bamenda, Special Focus On Women Humanitarians.

Commemorating the day in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon Saturday August 17, 2019, Specialised UN Agencies and their partners ranging from local civil society organizations to International Non Governmental Organizations converged at the Multipurpose hall of the Metropolitan Cathedral Big Mankon to present to the public where and how they can be reached, why they came and what they have been doing. With special focus on women humanitarians, one of those partners to UN specialized Agencies that has been working with women is Plan Cameroon especially with regards to the socio-political crises rocking the two English speaking regions of Cameroon. Women Humanitarians working with Plan Cameroon have been very active in providing portable water, sanitation and hygiene to over 30,420 people in a wash cluster in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon....

Two Girls Arrested For Assaulting A Boy In Bamenda

By Raymond Dingana. Two Girls have been arrested by elements of the National Gendarmerie after a video of them assaulting a young man went viral on the social media recently. In the videos, the girls suspected to be the ones in detention could be seen beating up the guy. DrayInfos was told at the Cow Street neighborhood where the incident took place that, the guy whom the girls were assaulting has been using them sexually without their knowledge.   DrayInfos could not immediately confirm if the allegations were founded or not. Asked why the guy did not run away of fight back when the ladies were vomiting their anger on him physically, those who said they were there when it all happened opined that, the guy was only a gentle man who did not see any reason fighting with women and did not want to take the laws in to his hands. Taxi Driver Killed By Armed Men In Bamendankwe Village

The owner of the township taxi that was used in the attack of last Saturday August 10,2019 at the Bamendankwe Village Square has been murdered.He was murdered on the night of Tuesday breaking Wednesday. Sources are indicating that,his murderers were armed men in civilian wears.The taxi driver whose only name we got as Kgwakem is said to have confirmed to his neighbors that ,his taxi was actually used by men dressed in military wears to attack the village square but that,he was tied down and his phone taken away by the men. He further said,he was dumped in  a student residential area around GBHS Mendankwe and only released after the attack on the village square.  Neighbours  also told DrayInfos that, Kgwakem was pulled out of his house on the night of Tuesday breaking Wednesday August 14,2019 and murdered. Bessi-Awum Village: Momo SDO Seals Fon’s Palace.

The senior Divisional Officer for Momo Division in the North West Region of Cameroon has in a Perfectoral Order number 14/2019/PO/DO/A2/SEFA dated 29 July 2019 sealed the Palace of Bessi- Awum village, Batibo Sub Division in Momo Division. According to the Prefectoral Order signed by Momo SDO, Absalom Monono Woloa, the palace of Bessi-Awum, 2nd Class chiefdom in Batibo Sub Division has been sealed till regular consultations in respect of the regulations in force and the traditions are carried out for the selection of a new traditional ruler for the village.The document repels what it describes as all illegal actions earlier carried by what it calls a group of persons in view of a new traditional ruler. Electricity Users In Bamenda Decry Exorbitant Bills Despite Months Of Unstable Electricity.

By Raymond Dingana Electricity subscribers in Bamenda and its environs say, they have been paying exorbitant electricity bills despite going without stable electricity for months. Many have questioned the reasons for such heavy electricity bill saying they never expected such taking into consideration the fact that, since the 20 th   day of May 2019, electricity supply in Bamenda and its environs has had nothing good  to write home about. Mr. Roland is a residence of Nkwen in Bamenda III Sub Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. Babessi: Flood Victims Abandoned,Days After Floods Hit That Community

Reports from Babessi, a village in Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region of Cameroon say, there has been no official statement both from the North West Administration and the Elites of Babessi; days after flood waters invaded the village on Monday August 5 th , 2019. According to a native of Babessi village who voted to go by the name Ndangam, it’s been days since nature turned it's ugly side on them, yet nothing has come from the powers that be :   “We have been abandoned, we don’t even have food to eat, portable water is also a problem, we don’t even have a shelter over our heads since our homes, more than 60 of them were destroyed rendering 48 families homeless, our children are falling sick every day, yet no one cares”.   He ended. Fru Ndi Given 48hrs To Apologise For Unauthorized Visit To Livanda

The chief of Livanda village in Limbe, South West Region of Cameroon has given the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front Party,Ni John Fru Ndi forty eight hours to apologise for what he says is Fru Ndi,s unauthorised visit to his village . In a letter (picture below)addressed to Ni John Fru Ndi dated August 12,2019,the traditional ruler indicates that,it is the tradition of the people for visitors not to visit crime scenes unauthorized : “Livanda is a village headed by a traditional ruler and it is our custom and tradition that, strangers do not   visit crime scenes unauthorised.
