Ndop: Civilians Shot Dead By Men In Military Attires.

Reports from Ndop, Nkoketunjia Division of the North West Region of Cameroon say, a pregnant woman, her elder sister and a baby of about six months old  have been shot and killed, Sunday August 25, 2019.Sources on the ground are indicating that, they were on a motor bike when armed men dressed in military attires opened fire on them at the entrance to the market killing all the passengers but for the commercial bike rider who narrowly escaped.

Yvonne was at the market when the incident took place. Hear her: “The victims were on a motor bike, a pregnant woman, her elder sister and a baby girl when they were shot and killed by armed men dressed in military attires. The bike rider was not hit and was the one who took the victim’s belongings moving around the village looking for their relatives after the corpses were taken to the mortuary by the population. When another contingent of armed men in military attires arrived the scene, they could be heard shouting at those behind the killings. This did not seem to move the population as an old woman openly said that, if they know what their colleagues did was wrong, they should also be killed the same way they killed the women and their children. I can’t really say what caused the shooting since there was no gun battle in the area before the incident”. DrayInfos could not immediately confirm this part of the story.

Asked how Ndop was doing after the incident, this is what our source said: “Calm started returning about two hours after the incident as many flooded the market to buy food stuffs in preparations for what the days ahead may turn out to be. Not even the blood on the tare mark could stop people from emptying themselves in to the market to get foodstuffs. It got to a point where people had money but there was no food stuffs left for them to buy”. She concluded.

It should be noted that, this is not the first time bullets are hitting a mother and her child. Just of recent in Bambui, Tubah Sub Division of the North West Region if Cameroon, a woman and her child died when bullets rained on them. Similar incidents have been reported in Kumbo, and other parts of the NWR and beyond ever since the crises rocking to the two English speaking regions of the country went deadly.
