Children Of Falling Soldiers Receive Didactic Materials From Colleagues.

The Cameroon Army in the North West Region of Cameroon has come to the
aid of families of fallen colleagues who have died on the battle fronts
defending the colors of the Country. This was in an event to hand over didactic
materials to the children of falling soldiers that took place at the head
quarters of the 5th military Region at Up Station Bamenda, Friday
August 30th, 2019 chaired by the Secretary General at the NW
governor’s office, Mr.Lanyuy Harry Ngwani. The children received School Bags,
Books, Pens and other items needed to help them go back for school for the
Academic year 2019/2020.
Asah Ryan is one of the children of the fallen soldiers who benefited
from the hand of fellowship extended to him by the Cameroon military. He thanks
the colleagues of his late father and said he was not sure his mother was going
to able to provide his school needs:
“I
am going to form one and I want to thank the Cameroon Army for what they have
given me. The items I have received will help me in school. If I happen to have
a private teacher, I will give him some of the things to help teach me with. I
was not even sure my mother was going to be able provide my school needs”.
Colonel Tchuankam Andre is commander,
6th military sector. He says one of the reasons for the gesture from the
Cameroon Army to the families of fallen colleagues is to prove to them that,
despite the fact that their parents are gone, they will always be with them:
“They should not say that their parents are dead because we are with them and
will always be with them. We are supporting them with these didactic materials
to enable them go back to school without any difficulties and to be better
people tomorrow. If I am not alive today, my brothers in the Army will take
care of my family as I am doing to others today. We also thought of the
families of members of vigilante groups who also died fighting alongside with
us and they were not left out in the exercise”.
Though it was announced that children of members of vigilante committees were also shortlisted to benefit from the gesture,DrayInfos did not see any of the children as those that were called up to received the didactic materials were children of fallen soldiers.
Worthy of note is the fact that, the
ongoing war in the North West and South West Regions of the country has given
birth to hundreds of orphans. While some are fortunate enough to have those who
can take good care of them, many others are languishing in bushes, on the
streets, some are internally displaced with very little to survive on while
many others are languishing in refugee camps
in Nigeria.
