Anglophone Crisis: Kidnappers In NW/SW Given 30 Day Ultimatum To Quit.
By Raymond Dingana
The imprisoned leaders of what has come to be known as the Coffin Revolution have given a 30 Day ultimatum to kidnappers and other criminals hiding under the Anglophone crisis to quit or face the consequences. They have been given 30 days to reconsider their actions, turn away from their evil ways and embrace profitable activities to better their lives. Failure to do so, the release says they will all be identified and defeated.
In a Press Release signed recently by Mancho Bibixy Tse and Ngalim Felix Safe, describing them as persons with no political agenda under two different groups namely; bandits who have been around even before the start of the crisis in 2016 and groups set up and sponsored by politicians to weakened what the release calls a political struggle by genuine freedom fighters.
The
press release also indicates that, the coffin revolution was aimed at bringing
political reforms that will improve on the living condition of the population
but has been hijack by people with no development and political agenda thereby
bringing untold sufferings to bear on the people which is not suppose to be
like that. The press release adds that, bandits with no political agenda have infiltrated
the revolution and are making to people to be suffering.
The
leaders of the coffin revolution also lament the fact that, many have been
kidnapped and tortured with many dying in captivity. To prove that they are not
freedom fighters, the release says, they kidnap even lawyers defending the
family members of Political prisoners and children of well known supporters of
the struggle.
The
release also decry attacks on Fulani communities, stealing of their cattle,
kidnap and killing of cattle owners, the attack on medical staff, Ambulances, and
health facilities, the desecration of traditional palaces, and the non respect
of traditional authorities ,the interruption of weddings and funeral ceremonies
demanding for money before such ceremonies could continue, the mounting of what
the release describes as illegal road blocks where money is extorted from
drivers and passengers and the imposition of their own taxes in some places,
the calling of persons demanding huge sums from them, kidnapping of students
and the setting of school buildings on fire and many others .
The
press release also warned the perpetrators of acts that only go a long way to
make the population suffer that, they cannot win a war against the people. If
they fail to stop their actions after the 30 Day ultimatum, the leaders of the
coffin revolution in the press release state that, they will carry out
unannounced actions to defend their people.
The population
of the two restive regions of Cameroon has however indicated the need for a
mediated talk to take place saying, it is the only way out of the current armed conflict as criminals hiding under the crisis will have no place to hide.
