I want to thank you all for the sacrifice you have made despite this hard times to see in to that, we stay safe from Covid-19 because of the special love you have for us. I will be paying unannounced visit to quarters and if I realize that, any quarter head is not doing what he is supposed to be doing for the sustainability of the project, he will be fined to bring ten goats, a basket of kola nut , crates of palm wine and many others.”

According to Louis Nforbelieh Ngwa, General Coordinator of the NCDA anti Covid-19 response initiative, it started before a case of the virus was ever reported the NWR:

This phase has seen the provision of one hundred wash stations and each station has six liters of liquid soap, five liters to refill and one liter that will be placed in the soap dispensers. This is an initiative of the sons and daughters of Nkwen”. They proactively put together funding, raising 5.5million FCFA and 8.5million FCFA in the first and second phases respectively. The first phase had ten wash stations but we saw that, the population of Nkwen is about one hundred and twenty to two hundred thousand people and it was difficult to cover it with mask and hand sanitizers, so we thought of including the wash hand stations at public places in Nkwen, so that everyone passing by can wash their hands which is very important in curbing the spread of covid-19.

Louis Nforbelieh Ngwa, General Coordinator of the NCDA Anti Covid-19 Response initiative.

Mr. Louis Nforbelieh also said, provisions have been made to ensure that, there is water in the wash stations at all times and contracts will be awarded to sons and daughters of Nkwen to take care of that. He said quarter ambassadors have been trained and put in place to continue with door to door sensitization.

Many are now hoping to see the gadgets being used judiciously so that, the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic is checked in Nkwen.
