The President of the Nigerian Union in Bamenda, Prince Otobong Ituen has said he has put last month’s attempt on his life behind him and forgiven his attackers.
Prince Otobong Ituen is just recovering from his hospital bed after he was attacked on November 18 by unidentified armed men.
Recalling the incident recently during a thanksgiving service at the Church of Christ in Bamenda, Prince Otobong said he was saved thanks to the grace of God.
He stressed he had long put the incident behind him and asked God to forgive all those who made an attempt on his life.
“Christ teaches us to forgive against those that trespass against us. In as much as we live on this earth, people must trespass against us. I have already prayed God to forgive them and not to punish them;” Prince Otobong said as he called on his attackers to repent.

He also used the occasion to caution his compatriots against involving themselves in illicit businesses.
“Activities that will only bring on the name of the country Nigeria should be shunned and not use the current dispensation as a way to involve themselves in things that will robe the name of Nigeria in the mud when they are exposed, ” Prince Otobong said.

Reacting to the conflict in the North West and South West Regions, the Nigerian Union President said, the Head of state, President Paul Biya should ignore undue praises from close allies who don’t want the crisis to end and focus on providing long last solutions.
