Observers of the recent happenings in Bui Division, a hot spot in the ongoing war rocking the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon say, the restriction on the circulation of bikes in Bui is rather going to cause more harm than good. While uniform officers will not spare any unauthorized bike, there are fears that, Non State Armed Groups will not also spare anyone seen after the first june deadline for all bikes to obtain the documents. To the observers, the armed groups may see them as a threat while those who may not register their bikes before the deadline will also be seen as a threat. Farmers too will be affected negatively. Much of Bui is accessible with the use of bikes since farm to market roads are nothing to write home about. On the 25 of May 2021,the Senior Divisional Officer for Bui, Lanyuy Harry Ngwanyi signed a radio communique prohibiting the circulation of unauthorized motor bikes from the first of june, 2021. The S.D.O further warned that, voilators will be prosecuted in accordance with the regulations in force.
