UBa Student Suffering From Gun Shot Wound Finally Gets Medical Help

Forgambe Sony Neghop, a student of the Universitily of Bamenda, UBa has finally started receiving full medical attention five days after he was shot by unidentified gun men.
The Level 300 Boilogy student of the Higher Teacher Training Collage, H.T.T.C was shot and wounded last Sunday May 16,2021 at the Down Quarter Neighbourhood in Bambili.
Sony was finally operated on the leg that was hit by the bullet in a health facility in Bamenda on Friday May 21,2021.
This was after the amount of money needed for the operation was raised thanks to assistance from UBa authorities.
Before he was transfered to where the leg was operated on, he had spent huge sums at the Mbingo Annex Hospital in Bamenda.

A source closed to Sony said, the left leg hit by the bullet was operated on but the bullet was not removed.
He said doctors indicated that, removing it was going to cause more problems and that, the bullet was going to come out on its own.
"The doctors said, the operation was to insert an iron to help in the healing process and also to adjust the bones. They pointed out that, the bullet was not removed because it was going to cause more problems. Sony is now worried because, he feared not being able to join his friends on campus because of his situation. He has also thanked the authorities of Uba for assisting him not living out his friends who have also been of great help to him," the source said.
Worthy of note is the fact that, last sunday may 16,2021, Sony went out with his motor bike to raise some money to take care of his needs. On his way back at about 7pm, he said he saw three men around the entrance to his house at the Down Quarter Neighborhood in Bambili.
He added that, he only realized they were gun men when they turned their guns on him hitting him on the hips and the bullet also affected his left knee.
He was rushed to Mbingo annex thanks to the timely intervention of neighbors who heard his cries and after seeing the condition he was in, decided to alert security forces. From there, he was taken to another health instution where he is currently responding to treatments.
