Swine Fever: North West Governor Bans Transportation Of Pigs

Following the outbreak of Swine Fever in the North West Region of Cameroon, the Governor has placed a ban on the transportation of pigs and pig's products in Mezam and Momo Divisions till further notice.
This is contained in a Regional Order signed Friday July 9, 2021 by NW Governor, LeLe Lafrique Tchoffo Deben Adolphe.
The order takes effect from the date of signature.
The swine fever which is ongoing has caused the death of many pigs.
Pork has also witnessed a drop in its prices thereby increasing the rate at which it is consumed.
Many have testified to drayinfos that, they have bought pigs for as cheap as FCFA 4000 each.
To them, shwine Fever is not human fever and so, the can consume without any worry, something health officials have condemned with all energy.
