NW Governor Apeals For Peace As MIDENO Strategizes To Combat Food Insecurity

North West Governor,Adolphe Lele Lafrique Tchoffo Deben has appealed for a return to normalcy in order to pave the way for the North West Development Authority also known as MIDENO to win the battle against Food Insecurity.
He was speaking shortly after the 54th Board of Directors meeting at MIDENO,Wednesday December 21,2022 in Bamenda chaired by the Board's Chairperson, Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique.
The project to silence hunger is a World Bank Project worth 7 billion FCFA with MIDENO to serve as an Executive Agency for the project that will run for 36 months beggining 2023.

Governor Lele Lafrique pointed out that he doesn't see the project whose main objective is combating food insecurity coming to fruition in an atmosphere of insecurity.
We owe it as a duty and responsibility to continue advocating for a total return to normalcy by telling the people that effective development can only be possible in times of peace and not in chaos,
governor Lele said and continued that,
we have to continue telling our children who were misled to take up arms against the state that fighting the government is like biting the finger that feeds you. Development can only be achieved when we speak with one voice.
It was also revealed at the meeting that the Rice Value Chain project with headquarters in Bamenda will intensify rice production in three regions; North West,West and Far North Regions.
This will see an escalation in rice cultivation in Ngoketunjia, Donga Mantung, Mezam, just to name but these.
The second phase of of the MIDENO's Livestock and Fisheries Development Project (LIFIDEP) will take off in 2023,the governor indicated.

Governor Lele invited the population to participate in developing their communities by ensuring that security reigns for the projects which have been designed to improve on their living conditions to see the light of day.
MIDENO was also saluted for its supports to farming groups in the North West region of Cameroon in the area of improved planting material,facilitating access of farm to market roads,amongst others.
Midwifed in 1981, MIDENO has as duty to direct, oversee and aid rural development in the North West Region. The institution has the mission to meet the needs of the over 80% of the population whose principal activity is agriculture.
