The Mezam IV Section-Bafut of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM has celebrated with pump and pageantry the 38th birth day of the party,Friday March 23,2023.

According to the mayor of the Bafut council, Ngwakongoh Lawrence, Mezam IV Section-Bafut have every reason to celebrate.

We are celebrating 38  years of peace and development, farm to market roads unfolding in Bafut, construction of bridges which was not the case for the past 33 years, hospitals and many micro projects that are in the pipe line thanks to decentralization are enough reason to celebrate the birth day of the CPDM,

indicated mayor Ngwakongoh.

He also called on traditional rulers in Bafut to cast out those he said are dragging Bafut behind,

The largess of the Bafut man has opened the doors for neighboring boys  to come in and be disturbing in the name of separatists. The few Bafut boys who were in this issue have dropped their weapons. I am calling on traditional leaders to stand up and send away these boys so that the population can enjoy peace.

Mayor Ngwakongoh also delivered warning signals to other political parties saying all is being done to ensure a 100% vote for the CPDM come 2025 when the party clocks 40.

Given that the Anglophone crisis is yet to subside to a satisfactory level with Bafut being one of the epicenters, Mrs Mejang Jacqueline who is the Central Committee adviser to Bafut re-echoed President Paul Biya's call for those fighting the state of Cameroon to drop their weapons, a call many have heeded to while others have vowed to fight to the end.

Also present at the 38th birthday of the CPDM party was the Hon. Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah Constituency, Aghor Oliver who said one thing they are celebrating is the fact that for the first time in 30years, the CPDM is occupying both the Parliamentary and Municipal seats in Bafut.

Very much aware of the challenges that await the party especially as  Parliamentary and Municipal elections are expected in 2025, Aghor Oliver said the dream of every political party is to win elections reason why no stone will be left unturned to keep on winning in Bafut.

Another stumbling block on its way is the Anglophone crisis which many have accused the party of not doing enough to address especially at the level of the Parliament given that it is the rulling party that has the majority of law makers in both houses of parliament.

Worthy of note is the fact that the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement CPDM was midwived in Bamenda on the 23 of March 1985 by President Paul Biya during one of his visits to Bamenda,a place he called his second home.

The second home of the president of the republic is a shadow of its self with bad roads, insecurity, hardship amongst other difficulties being the order of the day.
