The president of the Youth Wing of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (YCPDM) for Mezam IV Section-Bafut in the North West Region of Cameroon, Tchoffo Kongni Herman has presented to party hierarchy a basket full of challenges they are facing.

Speaking on the occasion to mark the 38th anniversary of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, March 24,2023, the president said the high level of insecurity, lack of resources to fund their activities amongst others are some of the difficulties encountered as the youth wing strive for growth.

"The challenges you went through in the past years seem to have trippled given the current prevailing  situation. Membership cards and party gadgets are scarce for our new militants. To make matters worse, the high costs of these items is preventing the young militants from acquiring them. Funding of the youth wing’s activities is equally hampered by non-availability of funds despite the lobbying efforts of the Youth Wing Section executives,"said Kongni.

He also pointed out the non respect of Article 30 of the CPDM Constitution which he said states that: “Party funds shall be used to meet its running expenses and those of its specialized organizations.”

These challenges Kongni said  are among many others that need urgent attention for the smooth running of YCPDM activities in Mezam IV-Bafut.

Tchoffo Herman used the occasion to urged young militants of the party to continue the work they are doing on the ground.

Tchoffo Herman also invited young militants to jealously  uphold the values of the party  ,shun all acts of tribalism, hate speech and all social ills.

He noted that the party can count on them in building a peaceful and prosperous Cameroon as well as victory in any future elections in Bafut.

The 38th anniversary of the CPDM was celebrated with the theme:“Rejoicing, gathering and mobilizing behind the National President, Paul Biya in full awareness of the challenges and future electoral stakes."

Celebrations came at a time when thousands of young people have fled Bafut, hundreds killed, some unaccounted for, a situation triggered by the Anglophone crisis which has also destroyed businesses owned by young people thereby causing a lot of hardship.

Many young people including CPDM militants are still looking up to the national president of the party, President Paul Biya of Cameroon to do the needful and bring the crisis to an  end.
