Nacho Junction Carnage: Presidential Couple Comforts Victims' Families


Governor Lele Lafrique At The Scene Where Ten Unarmed Civilians Were Killed

It was an emotional atmosphere at the Nacho Junction neighborhood in Bamenda when a convoy of sympathizers led by Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique of the North West Region arrived to deliver a condolence message from the Presidential Couple, Mr/Mrs Chantal Biya to families of victims of the Nacho massacre. 

Present at the scene where gunmen suspected to be separatist fighters sniffed live out of ten unarmed civilians were some family members of the victims, Thursday July 27,2023.

Sadness and pain could be seen written all over their faces as they received the condolence message from Mr/Mrs Chantal Biya read by Gov. Lele Lafrique.

" Following this tragedy, I extend my heart felt condolence to the family of the victims. To the wounded, i wish you all a speedy recovery and also receive a message of sympathy from my wife," 

an excerpt of the condolence message as read by Lele Lafrique.

The message further assured the population of the region that all is being done to ensure the safety of everyone.

Prior to the reading of the condolence message, an Ecumenical prayer session was held by two clergy men who all prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for the return to a peaceful Cameroon,

" the foundation of peace has been shaken, we need peace in our nation, we need peace in our region NW, we need peace in Bamenda, we need peace in the world, let's not just talk peace, let's use all our power and work for peace," 

prayed the clergy.

A presidential wreath was placed at the scene of the killings followed by a candle light procession.

Haven accepted the fact that her children are no more, Mama Tedongmo said,

"I leave all in the hands of God. I don't even know how I will take care of the three kids they left behind. The mother was pregnant when she was killed," 

she lamented with tears flowing down her chick while referring to the couple,  Simplice Longsti Tsomene and wife, Tanga Helene Raissa all victims of the Nacho killings.

Sunday July 16 2023 has gone down memory lane as one of those sad days that left an indelible mark in the minds of denizens of Nacho Junction in Bamenda.

This was the day armed men killed ten unarmed civilians  in cold blood leaving family members and friends devastated.

As the Anglophone crisis persist with no concrete measures being implemented to arrest the situation, this according to society watchers, fears are high that the Nacho  Junction Massacre might not be the last, GOD FORBID.
