Insecurity:Bandits Target NWCA General Manager, Tim Waindim's Residence

Men of the under world have attacked the residence of the General Manager of the North West Cooperative Association (NWCA) Ltd, Timothy Waindim Ntam and made away with valuables including a TV set, an undisclosed amount of money, amongst others.

The robbery incident took place in the evening hours of Friday 8 December 2023 at the Mkwase Quarter in Nkwen, Bamenda III Sub Division of the North West Region of Cameroon.

When reporters arrived the crime scene, Saturday morning, they met a family shaken and terrified with fear written all over them.

“They jumped over the fence, tied down the security guard before meeting us inside. With the guns they had, the only option left was to collaborate with them…. They collected money, valuables including the big TV in the sitting room.They even threatened to burn down the house,"

 narrated one of the occupants of the house.

Contacted via a messaging application app,    Timothy Waindim expressed deep shock and dismay at the shocking act of violence. He first of all thanked God for protecting his family and the wider community, emphasizing the urgent need for increased security measures in the region taking the over seven-year old armed conflict in to consideration. 

According to Hiltopvoices Media Group, the General Manager who wasn't around at the time of the incident condemned the perpetrators' actions as a cowardly assault on the fundamental rights of his family and security of residents in the area.

Timothy Waindim To Continue Rendering Service To His Community Despite Challenges 

Despite the trauma inflicted on his family, he remained resolute in his commitment to continue his work as the general manager of NWCA while hoping for a peaceful resolution of the conflict ravaging lives in the tow Anglophone Regions of Cameroon.

The robbery took place in a region that has been plagued by armed conflict for over seven years, with gun men targeting community leaders and their families.

Timothy Waindim, who has been outspoken on the need for a peaceful end to the Anglophone Crisis has long been a bone in the neck of promoters of conflict thus becoming a target like any other local leader.

The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the safety and security of those living in the conflict-ridden North West region. 

Lives Has To Continue Despite Attack On Residence 

In the meantime, Timothy Waindim and his family are left to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild their lives in the wake of this terrifying ordeal. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by those living in areas affected by armed conflict and the urgent need for greater protection and support for those at risk.

In the face of this harrowing ordeal, Timothy Waindim has called for unity and solidarity within the community, urging residents to stand together in the pursuit of peace and security. He expressed gratitude for the outpour of support from friends, colleagues, and local authorities, emphasizing the resilience and determination of the community to overcome such challenges.

Ultimately, the General Manager's reaction underscored his unwavering dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region, despite the grave threats posed by the ongoing armed conflict.
