More than 20 candidates with innovative solutions who answered present at the competition defended their start-up projects to see who represents Cameroon at the global competition in Abu Dhabi come May this year.

Fortunately for one of the ICT student by name Juvis Anzia, her Tech Solution to Cancer caught the attention of the jury, and that was how she emerged winners.

"The turning point is simple a breast cancer detection application, and IT detection device that detect cancer even at it's earliest stages with the use of ultrasound," explained the winner, Juvis Anzia.

As to how she came about the ICT application, Juvis Anzia said:

"the idea came about during one of our courses in level 0ne, Research Methods in ICT. We were asked to find major problem in our society and provide an IT solution to this problem. I did my research and found out about the urgency of finding an alternative way to breast cancer detection. Some time later, a close friend of mine lost his mom because of breast cancer and that gave me a push to further my research till this point."

Anzia also has the following wish after winner the competition in Cameroon:

"The next challenge is winning the finals in Dubai, getting our device recognized by the ministry of health and getting funds to producing our first 100 devices and placing them in different health centers, hospitals (both in rural and urban areas) and intellibra points."

One of the Juries, Favor Njita Ngwi pointed out that it wasn't an easy ride coming out with the winner given that all the projects were amazing.

" We had to come up with three winners, and we arrived at the conclusion that the first winner's project was really  innovative, and she deserves it,"
said one of the Juries, Favor Njita.

Having emerged victorious in the just ended Cameroon National Pitch Competition occupying position number one, Juvis Anzia would be moving to Abu Dhabi where should would have another opportunity to not only defend the colours of ICT University, but those of Cameroon.

Her innovation in the fight against breast cancer is coming at a time when the disease continues to ravage lives not only in Cameroon, but the world at large.
