Ngemba Cultural, Development Association, Georgia Donates To Health Facilities, Urges Others To Imitate

The Ngemba Cultural and Development Association, based in Georgia, United States, has donated critical medical equipment valued at over 350 million FCFA to health facilities in Mezam Division, North West Region of Cameroon. The equipments were officially handed over at a ceremony held at the former Skyline Hotel premises in Upstation Bamenda on Tuesday July 9th.

During the event, the President of the association, Barrister Akufor Aneneba, emphasized the importance of using the donated equipment judiciously to serve the healthcare needs of the local community.
"The first thing is that it should trickle down to the exact same people that it was intended for because we will be getting a feedback from the Regional Delegate. This will enable us prepare another package to benefit not only the Ngemba Community,"Aneneba stated.
According to the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the North West, Dr Kingsley Che Soh, the equipment have a long lifespan and would be of great help to the community.
"It's important to note that from the quality of equipment, and the quality of the supplies, their expiration date is far,"

Additional, he said amonsgt the equipments that were handed over were incubators. One was donated to Mankon District Hospital, another to the Santa District Hospital. He further explained that a surgical table was sent to Nkwen District Hospital, a lot of examination gloves, gounds, and other equipments that would be use in infection prevention,and control within the health districts.
The Director of the Regional Hospital in Bamenda, Dr. Denis Nsame, whose facility received a portion of the donations, assured that the equipment will be put to good use.
"I will really like to thank the Ngemba community in Georgia USA for thinking about us back home, and this donation will actually be put in good use. When we talk about a hospital, we are talking about disease prevention, and we have received a lot of material for disease prevention like the hydration therapy machine. We will make sure they are used jealousy.
Dr Nsame said and added that
"This is very new in our hospital and I think only the Regional Hospital could have had this machine. The regional hospital is a reference hospital in the region, and the other satellite health facilities refer to the Regional Hospital. These donations will significantly improve our ability to serve the medical needs of our patients,"he stated.
The event was graced by the presence of the North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, who expressed the government's appreciation for the philanthropic efforts of the Ngemba Cultural and Development Association.

"It falls very much within government's policy which is neglecting nothing as far as providing health care We commend the association for their commitment to supporting the healthcare sector in our region and encourage other Ngemba sons and daughters to follow their example," the Governor said.
The Fon of Mankon, His Royal Highness Fo Angwafo IV, was also present at the ceremony and encouraged other Ngemba community members to emulate the generosity of the association.
"We are calling on all sons and daughters of this region to think of lifting the health standards,and humanitarian needs of the people back home just like the Ngemba Community in Georgia USA is doing,"

"Our health system has suffered a lot because of the Socio political crisis, and so it's a good idea for them to think of reinforcing the health facilities here." He added.
This donation of critical medical equipment is a testament to the Ngemba Cultural and Development Association's dedication to improving the healthcare infrastructure and services in their home region, setting an example for others to follow.

It is worth noting that the medical equipment were made available through the support of the principal donor, MEDSHARE, and other partner organizations like the Allieh Foundation.
