Bamenda: Man Drinks Acid After Pouring It On Wife

Shock and consternation have grabbed inhabitants of Alahlieh, a neighborhood in Nkwen, Bamenda III council area after what many have described as a reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet unfolded  there on Saturday October 12,2024.

A road side fuel dealer by name Ebai Elias drank what sources say was acid after pouring it on his wife, a lady reports say is a lecturer at the University of Bamenda.

The woman is currently in critical condition at a healthcare facility in Bamenda haven suffered severe burns from the chemical substance.

We learned that he poured the chemical on his wife, prompting her loud screams that alerted neighbors. 

By the time the neighbors arrived, Ebai had already consumed the chemical, and collapsed to the floor before they could intervene.

The event has left the entire neighborhood in shock ,with many residents questioning what might have driven Elias to carry out such an act.

In a video recorded at the health facility where the woman was taken, she can be heard pleading,

 "Please help me."

In another video, her caretakers comfort her, saying, 

"Mummy, it's well, it's well, mummy, have you heard? It's well."

Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and further information is still emerging.

  Sylvester Madu After The Incident   By Raymond Dingana Several persons have been confirmed dead and many others seriously wounded after gunmen opened fire at a popular drinking spot at the Mile 3 neighborhood in the crisis battered Bamenda in the North West Region of Cameroon. The wounded were rushed to the Nkwen District Hospital in the Bamenda III Council area other hospitals around after the incident.  Reports say the incident that happened on Saturday at about 1opm in Nkwen breaking Sunday November 25 is said to have been triggered by by the presence of popular Nigerian Movie Star, Sylvester Madu, AKA Shina Rambo in a snack bar in that area.
