Latest From The Bafoussam Landslide: 4 Pregnant Women Among 42 Corpses Retrieved.

Latest information from the Bafoussam landslide is indicating that, more bodies have been pulled out of  debris of the landslide that occurred on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday  October 29, 2019 at about 10PM. Sources on the ground are indicating that, closed to ten more bodies have been retrieved putting the death toll at 42 from 37 as earlier reported.Ten women including four pregnant women, eleven boys, and fifteen girls between the ages of six and fifteen were among the victims of the landslide when nature turned its ugly face on the inhabitants of Ngouachie, in Bafoussam III, West Region of Cameroon on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Reports also say, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul and that of Housing and Urban Development, Celestine Ketcha paid a visit to survivors of the landslide at the Bafoussam Regional Hospital where they are being treated. Bafoussam Landslide: 37 Corpses Retrieved, About 20 Persons Unaccounted For.

Reports from the Ngouachie , a neighborhood in Bafoussam III Sub Division, West Region of Cameroon say, closed to Thirty Seven corpses have been retrieved from the  landslide that occurred Monday October 28 th , 2019 at about 10PM. Reports also indicate that, the landslide occurred following heavy down pour over the week end. It is also reported that, eleven houses were buried in the landslide which is also said to have buried closed to fifty persons. Latest reports say, the Thirty Seven corpses retrieved by a local rescue team in the area have been deposited at the mortuary. Efforts are still on the way to retrieve more bodies. “A Concerted Effort Will Free The NWR From HIV”–PROF. TIH PIUS MUFFIH.

By Raymond Dingana. The Director of the CBC Health Services, Professor Tih Pius Muffih has prescribed a Concerted Effort to free the NWR of Cameroon from HIV. He was speaking at the launching ceremony of the HIV- free COP 2019 Project to target 30000 new cases of HIV infected persons in the NWR and placed them under treatment . “ For the NWR to be free from HIV, we need a concerted effort. Every health care provider should work in a concerted way with the region. It is one project for the region and everybody that is involved in health care should be a part of the project so that we can bring the epidemic under control. Launching Of COP 19 Project: Worsening Anglophone Crisis Hampering HIV Service Delivery In The NWR.

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, CBCHS has frowned at the ongoing armed conflict in the North West Region of Cameron for standing on the way of HIV service delivery in the Region. The was during the launching ceremony of  the Country Operation Plan,COP 19 Project Year in the NWR, Thursday October 24, 2019 in the Conference Hall of the North West Regional Fund for Health Promotion. Because of security challenges brought about by the crisis, many have been displaced making HIV Service Delivery a daunting task.  In a bid to free the Region from the claws of HIV, the CBC Health Services will be implementing the HIV-Free North West Project in thirty Health Facilities carved from Fifteen Health Districts which represent in total, 80% of persons leaving with HIV in the Region supported by the US President’s Emergency fund for AIDS Relief also known as PEPFAR through the Center For Disease Control and Prevention also known as CDC. The Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Vincent Ndumu Nji has used the installation ceremony of the new SDO for Mezam, Mr. Mooh Emile Simon, to plead for peace to return to the two Anglophone Regions of Cameroon. Vincent Ndumu Nji went down on his knees at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grand Stand, Tuesday October 22, 2019 calling on the population to return to the life they were living three years ago before the crisis showed its ugly face in 2016. CHRAPA Inaugurates Para-Legal Center In Nkwen To Monitor Human Rights Violations.

The Center for Human Right and Peace Advocacy  –CHRAPA has inaugurated a Para-Legal Center and handed over to the population of Mbelem, a locality in mile six Nkwen, Bamenda III Sub Division of the NWR of Cameroon. During the inauguration and handing over ceremony, Sunday October 20 th , 2019 at Mbelem, mile six Nkwen, the coordinator of CHRAPA, Mr. Tata Nelson called on the population to make judicious use of the Para-Legal center put at their disposal by CHRAPA to take care of human right issues among others. He also told the inhabitants of Mbelem that, though the Para-Legal center is based in Nkwen, it doesn’t mean others from different areas cannot benefit from the services the center will be offering.
