Covid-19 Support Measures: Cameroon Gov't Rescues Economic Activities.
By Raymond Dingana The government of Cameroon has lifted the curfew imposed on economic activities to curb the spread of Covid-19. In a special declaration by Chief Dr. Dion Ngute, Cameroons Prime Minister signed April 30th, 2020, bars, restaurants and other leisure spots that were prohibited from operating after 6PM from the 17th of March 2020 are now free to close at any time. The declaration also insists on the obligatory wearing of protective masks by customers and to respect other barrier measures like social distancing. The transport sector that was already bleeding has breathed a sigh of relief. According to the document, the measure reducing the mandatory number of passengers in all public transport buses and taxis has also been lifted while; the wearing of face masks remains compulsory and overloading is prohibited.
