He informed the more than 70 journalists from the seven divisions that make up the North West Region that: "The media should continue to accompany us because promoting good governance in councils is a permanent activity. We want to ensure that our people enjoy the amenities provided by the government, and they may not benefit from them if they are not informed about them." VTIRUWED Trains, Graduates Vulnerable Female Youths In Bamenda

Story by Laarry Uchenna The Vocational Training Institute of Rural Women for Education and Development, abbreviated as VTIRUWED, has successfully graduated its pioneer batch of trainees from the institution in Bamenda in the North West Region. This was during a graduation ceremony that took place at MINEPAT Hall Upstation, Bamenda, on Saturday, October 29, 2024.  A total of 33 highly vulnerable female Cameroonians aged 15 to 30 were trained and impacted respectively in five different fields in their Bamenda branch during an intensive 1-year, five-month course. With head office in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division, the Bamenda branch, which is an institute under the Rural Women Center For Education and Development, RuWCED has been in existence for about 2 years now, and this is the first set trainees it is graduating. Bamenda Acid Attack Victim Breathes Her Last

  Late Dr Bongka Vivian  By Raymond Dingana Bongka Vivian, after a courageous battle for her life, has taken her last breath. She joined the heavenly choir on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Douala. Bongka Vivian was the Head of the Department (HOD) of Bilingual Letters at the Higher Teachers Training College (HTTC) of the University of Bamenda. She was a victim of an acid attack perpetrated by her husband. Her last journey on planet earth began on Saturday, October 12, 2024, when her husband, Ebai Elias, poured acid on her at the Alahlieh neighborhood in Nkwen, Bamenda III council area before taking his own life by drinking some of it, and died on the spot. Vivian had previously taken a break from her marital home due to her husband's abusive behavior. On that fateful Saturday, she called him to see if he was home, as she wanted to collect some personal belongings. The seriousness of the situation has prompted Community Spokespersons (CSPs) in Ntambag commonly known as old town to leave their comfort zones and engage directly with these schools to intensify advocacy against GBV.
